Who doesn’t love a bit of beauty banter between girl-friends, are we right? Finding out new tips and tricks about makeup or even getting the most out that expensive product can often feel like a life saver, so here’s ten more you should know, (and share with your friends).
Beauty Tip #1: Fresh hair
Is your hair feeling a little lack-lustre? Next time you’re applying your perfume, spritz a bit of onto your brush or comb for sweet-smelling hair! Avoid the roots, and apply directly to your ends.
Beauty Tip #2: Apple cider vinegar
Often considered a health miracle by many beauty experts, this innovative product is perfect for a number of different reasons. Use as a skin toner to gently minimise your pores, mix into your shampoo to safely remove dandruff, apply to dark spots (it naturally minimises their appearance), and finally use as a detangler for thick or course hair.
Beauty Tip #3: Blush
Save money on your makeup products and use your blush as an eyeshadow base. Darker tones such as peach or copper are perfect for using on the entire eyelid if you want to achieve an earthy tone. Pack on with an eyeshadow brush, and blend-out any rough lines for a natural look.
Beauty Tip #4: Set your lipstick
Lipstick looks amazing but sometimes darker shades make it impossible to set onto your lips without the colour bleeding. Apply a light coat of lipstick, then set with a shimmery eye shadow across your lips. Concentrate a bit of highlighting powder in the centre to give the appearance of larger lips as well!
Beauty Tip #5: Excess tan
Fake tan can stick to rough patches of skin including elbows, knees, feet, and hands. Remove this excess colour by gently rubbing a lemon onto the problem areas. Wash off with soap and lukewarm water, then apply a gentle moisturiser to prevent skin from drying out.
Beauty Tip #6: White teeth
Whiten your teeth naturally by mixing equal parts of baking soda and a handful of strawberries. Mash together until you create a fine paste, then carefully apply to your teeth.
Beauty Tip #7: Puffy bags
Remove puffy under-eye patches by mixing egg whites and applying directly onto the problem area. Leave on for at least one hour before washing off properly with a mild cleansing solution.
Beauty Tip #8: Ingrown hair
If you suffer from ingrown hairs, combine coconut oil and natural lavender then mix together. Apply directly on the ingrown hairs, then remove with tepid water. It should eliminate redness and keep your legs looking smooth and flawless.
Beauty Tip #9: False lashes
While false lashes are a must-have in every girls makeup kit, they can often be a nightmare to apply! To make the process a little easier cut the lashes into 3 strips. Lean directly over a mirror, and with tweezers, apply over your natural lash line. Once the lashes have dried, give them a good curl and apply a touch of mascara so they can blend in with your own.
Beauty Tip #10: Contour
Contour your face by choosing a colour with is 2-3 times lighter than your foundation. Apply this shade under your eyes using a damp cosmetic sponge, for a brighter under-eye area.
