So, just what’s on offer? There’s the twerking butt, graphically inspired by the bootylicious revolution of 2014; teledildonic toys, which are a stimulating combination of playful male and female sex toys for use with smart phones and computers, and virtual reality headsets and apps due for release in 2016. Here’s the lowdown on how they work…

The Twerking Butt

Let’s start at the bottom, shall we. The Twerking Butt is a life-sized derrière made of what producers are calling ‘cyberskin technology’, a fancy name for as-close-to-human-flesh-as-possible. The Twerking Butt has an erray of pleasure enhancing features, including simulated body heat, multiple twerking patterns, customizable rhythms and massage speeds, plus sensual vibrations. Every mans dream?!

Priced just under a cool grand, it comes with virtual reality goggles that enable the user to see a virtual partner in the form of a pornstar of their choice (we’re seriously not making this up). Lastly, it’s controlled with either a remote, smart phone or tablet. Anal sex toys don’t get better than this…

As the name implies, teledildonics or cyberdildonics, are hi-tech sex toys which connect to a smart phone, tablet or computer. They’ve been around for a while now and some are starting to hook up to social media.

There are quite a few on the market. Yet the basics of how they operate are fairly similar. The male toy is usually in the shape of a penis sheath and for the ladies, a tech operated vibrator. The price varies greatly depending on the product.

Features of teledildonics vary greatly; some take visual imagery inside the vagina while some simply vibrate or massage. Some are sold as a pair and can be controlled remotely by the opposite user (read: the ultimate toy for long-distance love affairs). Other products have a one-way operation with either the male or female in charge.

But buyers of these devices need to be wary that operation via the internet can get hacked, allowing an unsolicited third party to join your plesasure-fest. Not bad if you want to try out a virtual threesome, but otherwise a bit intrusive.

Virtual reality sex

Virtual-reality-goggles

If you thought holographs were reserved for sci-fi movies, think again. In 2016, virtual reality sex headsets and apps will become available to the public. Disappointed with the state of current 3D porn, virtual reality enthusiasts wanted to enable porn watchers to immerse themselves in the experience, and producers believe this will be the next big thing in the porn and the sex toy industries. So watch this space.

Given that one developer’s first-run of demo virtual reality sex headset kits quickly sold out, we’d say they might be onto something.
