Description Rove McManus final Say Hi to Your Mum for Me with a minor twist.
ROVE McManus has dropped the biggest bombshell of his 10-year TV career - he is quitting his Channel 10 variety show.
The triple Gold Logie winner, who on Friday was named kids favourite and favourite TV star at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, tonight stunned his studio audience and no doubt his legion of fans when he announced his show would not return in 2010, The Daily Telegragh reports.
Rumours had been circulating for weeks about the future of the show.
It was not on the list of shows Ten promoted at a recent function to announce its programming agenda for next year.
It was thought McManus would rework the variety show format and return to screen next April.
There was talk that, following the recent monster ratings success of the Hey Hey Its Saturday specials, McManus would come back in a show with a broader variety flavour.
And only recently he said: This show is my love and my passion and its always what Ive wanted to do.
If everything else fell down, as long as I still get to do this thing I love then Im happy. We have that connection with the audience at the moment and thats where my enthusiasm is coming from.
But in tonight's show he said: "It's purely my decision. It's not one I've made lightly or flippantly. The timing was right to stop, stand back and see what happens next."
