The British fashion designer reportedly committed suicide days after his
mother died. He was 40 years old.
A source at the his office has confirmed the death, telling
British newspaper The Daily Mail: “It is a tragic loss. We are not
making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.”
Alexander, who has dressed the likes of Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and more, hanged himself at his luxury million-dollar flat in Central London.
Just a few days ago he posted this message on twitter: “sunday evening been a f**king awful week but my friends have been great but now i have to some how pull myself together (sic).”
Before founding his own label Alexander was the head designer at Givenchy. He has won International Designer of the Year four times.
He was known as the bad boy of fashion and once allegedly sewed the words “I am a ****” into the sleeve of a jacket destined for Prince Charles!
He married documentary maker George Forsyth in 2000.
