Something’s in the air in Hollywood this week, and it’s spelling the end of celebrity relationships. First Diane Lane and Josh Brolin, then Michelle Williams and Jason Segel, and now Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen have split after two years together…

McAdams, 34, and Sheen, 44, met on the set of Midnight in Paris in 2010 but only came out as a couple later that year.

“Michael and I didn’t get together while we were filming Midnight in Paris, which I feel strongly about not doing when I’m working,” McAdams said in an interview last year. “I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together.”

McAdams also shared how they make their relationship work: good communication. “You need to trust each other and be able to talk to each other and be best friends.”

She had also gushed about their need to stay close despite their hectic work schedules. “Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart — we rack up a lot of air miles – but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not.”

Before Sheen, McAdams had a relationship with her Notebook co-star Ryan Gosling, while Sheen had an eight-year relationship with British actress Kate Beckinsale which ended in 2003. The two have a daughter Lily, 14.
