Koomson has two degrees in Psychology and Journalism and has written for a number of women’s magazines and newspapers. Koomson wrote her first novel, the unpublished “There’s A Thin Line Between Love And Hate” when she was 13. Koomson spent two years living in Sydney and is currently back in London.
The Ice Cream Girls is one cleverly crafted novel by Dorothy Koomson. The story is told in the first person alternating between Serena and Poppy, “The Ice Cream Girls” recounts the series of events that led to a tragic one that changed the course of their lives. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is some brightly covered chick lit book, this is a psychological thriller that will have you grab you from the beginning and not let you go until the very last page. If you loved “My Best Friend’s Girl” by Dorothy Koomson, then you will not be disappointed by this one either, Koomson has a real talent exploring the complex relationships between women, encouraging you to become entwined in their relationships along the way. Can’t wait to read her next one and might even try and find some of her previous novels if they are this good.
