The same day Angelina Jolie revealed she had a double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer, Brad Pitt is showing his love and support, calling her “absolutely heroic.”
“Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as many others like her, absolutely heroic,” Brad Pitt said in a statement. “I thank our medical team for their care and focus.”
“All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children,” Pitt continued.
“This is a happy day for our family.”
In today’s op-ed piece in the New York Times, Jolie described Pitt as “loving and supportive” and there for her “for every minute of the surgeries.”
Meanwhile a bevy of celebrities have shown their support for Jolie, including breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crowe who tweeted: “I commend Angelina Jolie for her courage and thoughtfulness in sharing her story today regarding her mastectomy. So brave!
And fellow survivor Giuliana Rancic tweeted: “Proud of her for using her incredible platform to educate women.”
