Catherine Zeta-Jones has checked back into treatment for her bipolar II disorder, describing it as “maintenance.”

“Catherine has proactively checked into a health care facility,” said her rep, Cece Yorke.

“Previously Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner.”

The actress, 43, completed treatment for bipolar II two years ago in a Connecticut mental health facility, before openly speaking out about the disorder.

“This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them,” Zeta-Jones said in 2011. “If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help.”

Last week Zeta-Jones stepped out with husband Michael Douglas in New York at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 40th Annual Chaplin Award Gala honouring Barbra Streisand.

We wish Catherine Zeta-Jones all the best in her treatment!
