Sparkle like a Hollywood star this weekend with these A-List makeup tips from Tania Walsh, CEO of Vani-T, www.vani-t.com/au
1. The right foundation
Selecting the right foundation is essential in creating a flawless Hollywood look. The first thing you should do is determine your skin type – oily, normal, dry or sensitive. Then choose a formulation that will meet your specific needs. If you want a true “no makeup” look with light coverage choose a tinted moisturiser. Mineral foundation is ideal for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin or rosacea. Vani-T’s Mineral Powder Foundation is chemical free and weightless with long lasting coverage and offers a concealer/foundation/powder and chemical free natural sunscreen all in one.
2. Bronzer Bronzer
This is traditionally used to “warm up” your complexion. You can also create the allusion of higher, more prominent cheekbones by using your bronzer for a natural looking contour. A good bronzer should always be a shade or two darker than you natural skin colour in order to compliment your skin tone. A good bronzer is designed to give your skin a healthy looking, natural glow. Always use a fluffy blush brush to apply bronzer. Pat the brush into the colour then tap off any excess on the back of your hand to risk going overboard on the bronzer. Apply to the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose, remembering to blend well.
3. The perfect faux tan
If you’re attending an A-List type event, the faux tan is the only way to tan safely and your little black dress or evening gown will look even better on perfectly tanned skin. If you have an event coming up, you should get a fake tan two days before. So if your event is on Saturday, get a spray tan on Thursday. The colour is its deepest and most natural looking then.
4. Nude lips
A hot trend amongst celebrities at the moment is for a very natural look with their makeup. Light pink or peach cheeks with a nude shade of gloss across their lips is the perfect option for women who want to create this look. Think Toni Colette or Kate Hudson at this year’s Golden Globe awards!
