‘Dine Out to Help Out’ means you can enjoy amazing food and help others, too. Double bonus!
StreetSmart Australia and its restaurant partners are calling for Australians to ‘Dine Out to Help Out’ again this Christmas. In its sixth year, the campaign’s winning formula makes it easy for anyone to get involved and raise vital money for grassroots charities supporting homelessness.
To be held from 9th November to 24th December, ‘Dine Out to Help Out” sees restaurants add a $2 voluntary donation to every table’s bill. Every single dollar collected is then donated directly to support homeless refuges and charities.
Participating restaurants include the highly regarded Longrain, Coast, Universal, Verge, Oyster Little Bourke, Ladro, Baguette Restaurant and Lounge Bar, Montrachet, Il Centro Restaurant & Bar, and e’cco.
A complete list can be viewed at http://www.streetsmartaustralia.org/findrestaurant. Donations can be made at any time on the StreetSmart website http://www.streetsmartaustralia.org/getinvolved.
StreetSmart last year generated $260,000 with a grand total of $830,000 since commencing in 2003.
Restaurateurs in regional centres are just as keen to be involved, with restaurants in Orange, the Hunter Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Bendigo, Daylesford, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast taking part last year.
