What a great idea - women only floors in hotels - set up so solo travelling women feel safe. Even the cleaning staff are women. Even the goodies are things we love - candles, bowl of fruit, great monthly mags, soft lighting.... The US has been doing this for years but only 1 hotel in Brisbane has caught on so far - are these hotels discriminating against men, simply trying to boost their bottom line or really attempting to help women feel more secure?
Would you stay on a women only floor?

Yes, and let the men have a men only floor too. How you enforce it though I am not sure.

I would stay on a women only floor in a hotel. Especially as l travel solo most times. Feeling safe and secure is important.

It's interesting that after all the revolutions women have undergone, no-one actually addresses the problem: men.

ljene hahaha love that comment!!!!

Floss11 I also think it is so important to stay safe.... i wonder if the staff that service the floor are also females!! and if it would be swipe card protected aswell

But anytime i would travel I think I would be with hubby.....but I like having that option there for women it is great to feel safe away from home.

Totally disagree! Sorry but 'women's only'?! is discriminatory. Yes, stats show that men are more predatory but security cameras and security guards should be sufficient. Besides, how will hotel staff prove the gender of guests? There are plenty of attractive transvestites and 'ladyboys' around. A strip search to get on a hotel floor??!! Let's get real and let's be equal.
