Gisele Bundchen Wants To Force Mums To Breastfeed
Gisele Bundchen is causing controversy by saying all mums should be forced to breastfeed.
The world’s highest paid supermodel believes there should be a worldwide law making all mothers breastfeed for six months, disregarding mothers who cannot naturally breastfeed.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “Some people here (in the US) think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think, ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?’
“I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”
The Brazilian, who now lives in Boston with her footballer husband Tom Brady, also famously got up and made pancakes after giving birth to their son Benjamin Rein, now seven months old.
To run salt further into the wound, she said meditating every day prepared her for giving birth.
“It prepared me mentally and physically. It’s called ‘labour’ not ‘holiday’ for a reason, and I knew that,” she said.
“You want to go into the most intense physical experience of your life unprepared? That doesn’t make any sense to me.
“Then I was ready and I thought ‘OK, let’s get to work’. I wasn’t expecting someone else to get the baby out of me.”
Does she know what she’s talking about, or should she stick to strutting her stuff down the catwalk only?
