Healthy Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundaes

Indulge your inner child with a traditional combination of bananas, ice-cream, nuts and hot fudge chocolate sauce – and the best thing? It’s heathy!

Serves 4


2 tbs pecans

60g good-quality dark chocolate, chopped

? 2 tbs skim milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 small scoops (120g) low-fat vanilla ice-cream

? 2 small bananas, sliced diagonally

1. Preheat oven to 180°C or 160°C fan-forced. Place pecans on a baking tray and bake for 5 minutes or until golden. Cool to room temperature and coarsely chop.

2. Combine chocolate, milk and vanilla in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

3. Spoon ice-cream into sundae glasses or bowls. Serve topped with banana slices, hot chocolate fudge sauce and pecans.
