We reported yesterday that glamour model Katie Price was in Las Vegas to possibly marry her cage-fighting man Alex Reid. Well, folks, she’s done it!
The couple wed at the city’s Wynn Hotel at 4pm local time yesterday. They are staying at the upmarket Planet Hollywood hotel in the honeymoon suite which costs almost $10,000 a night, and were spotted looking at rings shortly before the ceremony.
“Katie and Alex are delighted to announce that they got married in a private, simple ceremony at 4pm (PST) on February 2nd in Las Vegas,” said their spokesperson. “Their reason for getting married is purely down to their love for each other.”
It seems strange that her publicist would have to defend the reason why they got married. Isn’t love the main reason most people tie the knot?! Maybe not in Katie’s case since a camera crew from her reality TV show followed them there.
The ceremony took 22 minutes, just a fraction longer than their courtship which was around seven months (if you don’t count when she dumped him on live television). They then celebrated their marriage at strip clubs Spearmint Rhino and Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club.
So how does her ex husband Peter Andre feel about all of this? “I’ve thought about this, all this morning, and I thought as long as they’re a positive influence on my kids that’s all I care about. If they’re happy great, it’s none of my business. I don’t have any negative feelings inside me,” Peter told BBC Radio I DJ Chris Moyles.
But later on he burst into tears on live television after Sky News presenter Kay Burley suggested that Katie’s new husband Alex Reid may want to adopt his two children, Junior, four, and Princess Tiaamii, two.
A tearful Peter, 36, said: “No one is going to take my kids away from me and I will fight to the death for that. Nobody is going to take my children away from me. I will go to court. I don’t want to talk about this.”
You have got to feel sorry for Peter through all of this don’t you? He seems like the only one with his priorities straight. What do you think?
