Kelly Preston’s Silent Scientology Birth
Kelly Preston has spoken about her “silent Scientology birth” after welcoming son Benjamin last November.
The 48 year-old donned sky high heels for her first night out since the birth, enjoying a dinner date with hubby John Travolta in LA last night.
Preston describes the silent birth as common in her religion. “It’s just no words as much as possible. If you need to moan, if you cry out or all of that, of course, is normal. But just bringing them in as peaceful and gentle a way as possible.”
While most women might find this near impossible, Preston explained the reasons why this is so important to Scientologists. “L. Ron Hubbard found that the single source of aberration, of psychosomatic illnesses, stress, fears, worry, things like that, have to do with the reactive mind, and in that part of the mind is different words and commands that can come back to affect you later in your life.
“My kids have always been amazing, very calm, very peaceful, happy, and I absolutely know that it’s very much because of that.”
Preston and Travolta sadly lost their son Jett in late 2009 and describes Benjamin’s birth is “a miracle”. They also have a 10 year-old daughter Ella.
What do you think? Could this practise put more pressure on expectant mothers or do you think this could be a healthier way to welcome a child into the world?
