Kylie Minogue Tries To Block Old Episodes Of Neighbours

Kylie Minogue is so ashamed of her early career as Charlene the tomboy mechanic in Neighbours that she’s been in a legal bid to block old episodes.

We all shed a tear when Charlene married Scott (Jason Donovan) and the show’s creator Reg Grundy confirmed it is one of the highest ratings episodes on Australian TV of all time.

Grundy has revealed Kylie told him he couldn’t use the tapes because she didn’t want her early years revisited on air.

He explained: “It was like, our lawyers versus their lawyers. But I think she felt as her career grew, she didn’t want to be remembered for being on a soap.”

“That’s understandably I think. But it did give her the break and I think now she does acknowledge that.”

Meanwhile Robbie Williams has confessed he had a secret crush on Kylie for years.

In his new book You Know Me he admits that when they filmed their raunchy clip Kids he burst out laughing when she stripped off for the final scene.

He says his nerves at seeing his crush naked led him to drink before filming and he teased her on set, which left her “offended.”

“I couldn’t figure out why my banter wouldn’t work, why my natural ability to just be myself went awry,” he said.

Williams began drinking Drambuie liqueur “to get some Dutch courage, but it backfired”.

“I may have offended her too, because she must have felt vulnerable too, being naked on set, and being naked in front of me.”

At that point he realised he’d missed his one chance at love with Kylie. “I think that any chance of anything disappeared when I laughed at her. Perhaps she likes being naked, but she probably doesn’t enjoy being laughed at by some Stokie idiot.”
