Mary-Kate and Ashley lowly interns

The Olsen twins
These 18-year-old college freshman have just scored a couple of cushy internship spots as part of their first year requirement at New York University?s Gallatin School of Individualised Study. Although they?ll be on the wage of lowly interns, their mentors are a little more high profile than most. Mary-Kate Olsen will be work for famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, and Ashley Olsen will be the lackey for designer Zas Posen, a favourite for Natalie Portman and Claire Danes. She?s probably the first design intern with her own clothing line though! According to their spokesperson, “They’re having a chance to explore things that interest them that they never had a chance to do? It’s an opportunity for both of them to learn from the best.” Damn straight.

Diva Mariah
Red carpet Diva
Mariah Carey went one (well maybe about 10) steps too far this weekend when she demanded a red carpet be rolled out for her at 2:15am, just so she could enter a hotel. According to reports, she refused to enter the lavish Baglioni hotel in Kensington, London, until a red carpet lined with large white candles had been laid out on the pavement. She even made her chauffer drive around the city until her request was met. . “It’s not unheard of for us to rush a red carpet out for a guest,” the hotel’s operations manager admitted. “We’re used to dealing with high-profile guests and everyone has their own requirements.”
