More fun in Manly – Girls Day Out – Part 2

Don’t you love it when you discover something amazing right in your own backyard?

Many Sydneysiders view Manly as somewhere to go for a day out, jump on the ferry walk down the beach and then get on the ferry and go back home. But if you have been over to Manly in the past year or so you will have noticed a distinctly different feel about Manly.

Walk down the Corso (main thoroughfare to the beach ) and you will be hard pressed to find one of the many $2 shops that used to be dotted down the Corso, now you will have a multitude of shopping choices from Sportsgirl, to Smiggles, as well as Oakley and of course don’t forget all the coolest surfwear shops like Roxy, Quicksilver, Billabong and Mambo.

But don’t stop there, there is also a great range of smaller boutiques that are giving the eastern suburbs of Sydney a run for their money, Paddington look out! Manly is now a serious rival for shopping with the girls!

You will be lucky if you get to the beach by the time you have been into all the new shops in Manly.

If shopping isn’t your thing and you want to explore Manly and the surrounding areas, and just want some fresh air and exercise then Manly is also one of the best places to pack in as much action as you can handle in one day – swimming, tennis, golf, beach volleyball, roller blading, biking, scenic and historical walks, parasailing, scuba diving, fishing. Plus the traditional famous Manly beach is perfect for surfing lessons and easily organised.

Come for the day and eat, drink and shop and be merry but don’t make the mistake of walking down the Corso going for a dip and then returning on the ferry or you may have just missed out on one of Sydney’s worst kept secrets – Manly is a shopping, dining, happening place these days!
