No Strings Attached Movie Review

What are you doing this weekend? Cancel it! Grab your girlfriends and go see No Strings Attached. Or, if you’ve got no plans for Valentine’s Day, make this the movie you go and see. It’s a big call but I think this is the rom-com of the year!

Sure, Ashton Kutcher spends a lot of the film with his shirt (and pants) off. Reason enough for the price of admission. But No Strings Attached is also absolutely hilarious with some of the best lines of recent times. It’s edgy (even the opening scene will have you OMG-ing) and very sweet, but not in a sickly sweet kind of way. Yep, even your man will like this one.

Ashton and Natalie Portman have a brilliant chemistry and you can tell they genuinely had a good time making this movie (Natalie also acted as executive producer). They play Adam and Emma, friends trying to answer the eternal dilemma – can you be friends with benefits and nothing more?

Ashton is gorgeous (Demi Moore you are one lucky woman) and Natalie Portman is stunning – is there a prettier actress in Hollywood? She looks amazing throughout the movie from her wardrobe to the makeup. There is a great supporting cast, from Kevin Kline as Ashton’s dope-smoking dad (“Great Scot!”) to rapper Ludacris as one of the very funny posse of friends and flatmates.

There’s a particularly hilarious ‘time of the month’ scene, and listen out for the genius country version of Jay-Z’s 99 Problems. It’s details like this that make No Strings Attached a stand out.
