Start the weekend with decadent brunch of Nutella-stuffed French toast. Add sliced bananas or strawberries for an extra treat, and drizzle with maple syrup.


Sliced bread such a challah, brioche, baguette or rustic country white


2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

Drop of vanilla extract


Sliced bananas or strawberries, if using


1. Heat a large frying over medium heat. Whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Spread Nutella on bread (and sliced banana or strawberries, if using) and make a sandwich. Dip in egg mixture and coat completely on both sides.

2. Melt a tablespoon of butter in the frying. Cook French toast for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

3. Serve hot with maple syrup and sliced fruit.
