Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen debuted a sophisticated collection at New York Fashion Week yesterday. See what you think.
The fashion rebels showcased their new range for The Row, their upmarket label, to the likes of Chloe Sevigny, US Vogue editor Anna Wintour and her French counterpart Carine Roitfeld.
The colour palette was black, which has been the norm for Fashion Week, with some fabrics including a subtle pattern to lift it. A peppering of white and blue gave added interest. The models sashayed down the runway in chic wrap dresses teamed with trousers and gladiator sandals, slim-fitting shirts and A-line skirts, belted jackets and wrap coats.
The Row, which they launched quietly several years ago, is named for their fascination with Savile Row and their quest to achieve the most perfect, simplistic, effortless fit.
In other fashion news Bebe has created a range with reality TV stars Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian. The collection was based on clothing the girls would wear, including blazers, jersey tops, short dresses and leather items.
Katy Perry is rumoured to be creating a shoe range for Steve Madden. Madden has already created collections with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for their new Olsenboye range.
Madonna is in talks to design a new range of clothing and accessories for American department store Macy’s. Word is she’s considering calling her clothing collection Material Girl, and naming her lingerie line Truth or Dare.
