Shania Twain’s divorce finalised

Poor Shania Twain’s life is looking like a real-life country and western song with the announcement that her 14 year union with Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange has ended in an official divorce.

The marriage ended in May 2008 when he embarked on a relationship with her good friend (and former assistant) Marie-Anne Thiebaud. But it seems good times might be just around the corner for Shania with an unlikely partner, as Shania Twain was reportedly “radiantly happy” after her separation was made official in Switzerland this week and celebrated by stepping out at the Swiss Red Cross Ball this week with new partner Frederic Thiebaud, who was previously married to Marie-Anne!

An onlooker said: “She was radiantly happy.” Friend Stephane Lagonico – who organised the lavish event – added: “Her happiness certainly shone through. They are a great addition to each other’s lives.” Close friends of the 44-year-old singer are said to be delighted with the impact Frederic has had on her life. One pal said: “Shania and Fred are a couple that fit together. Things are getting really serious with Fred.”

Twain’s divorce from Lange was finally made official this week in Switzerland as this is the country where the singer lives. The former couple shares a son, 8-year-old Eja D’Angelo.

Shania has previously admitted she wanted to “go away and disappear” when her marriage ended. She said: “I feel like in a way I’m starting over, with everything.. I was in a very deep, dark slump, and I needed to find a way to get myself out of it. I had to force myself back out into life, back out into experiencing things. “There were moments when I really just thought, ‘I don’t need anything and I don’t need anyone. I just want to go away and disappear.’ So, that was a bad slump.”

To my beloved fans:

As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.

Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.

Hope she feels like a woman again soon! Go Shania! let’s hope she will come back better and stronger and create a brillant new CD without her Mutt x-husband!
