Too sunburnt to hit the beach? Tsk. Tsk. Bathe in Aloe then hit a nice cool cinema and check out these holiday flicks.

“Did You Hear About The Morgans?” – Released Dec 26, 2009

What’s it about? In New York City, an estranged couple (played by Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant) who witness a murder are relocated to small-town Wyoming as part of a witness-protection program but things don’t go to plan!

Will I like it? It’s been a while since we’ve seen bumbling Hugh on the big screen and, as far as chick flicks go, this one is quite funny! Just prepare yourself for a bad SJP hairdo and cowboy hats. Is it SATC2 time yet?

Let me watch it! Get your SJP fix here.

“The Lovely Bones” – Released Dec 26, 2009

What’s it about? A 14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania is murdered by her neighbour and tells this take from Heaven as she tries to help her family uncover the mystery.

Will I like it? It’s a gritty drama starring Mark Wahlberg and Susan Sarandon and directed by Peter Jackson. Not for the faint-hearted or those with a loud, wailing cry!

Let me watch it! Win tickets to see the movie and watch the trailer here.

“It’s Complicated” – Released Jan 6, 2010

What’s it about? From writer/director Nancy Meyers (“What Women Want”, “Something’s Gotta Give” and “The Holiday”) comes this rom-com about two men who vie for the affection of one woman.

Will I like it? I wish they would have cast ANYONE but Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin because I find the both awkward and fake actors but thankfully Meryl Streep more than makes up for the warmth they lack. Take your Mum to this one!

Let me watch it! Meryl magic here.

“Up in the Air”- Released Jan 7, 2010

What’s it about? Ryan Bingham is a corporate downsizing expert (A.K.A corporate ****head) whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the woman of his dreams.

Will I like it? George Clooney plays the lead role so that’s worth serious go-see points right there and he wears a suit pretty much the whole way through. Need we say more? Catch it if you liked “The Terminal” and “Thank You For Smoking”.

Let me watch it! Get yourself some George here.
