The Catwalk Report
Reports from the overseas catwalk are singing the praises of anything that is short, coloured or fluorescent. It will all be heading our way very soon. Other hot tips are:?
The Rah-rah skirt is still doing the rounds and so too is anything ruched. If you drop into any Witchery or Sportsgirl you will be able to pick up some great ruched Tee?s and skirts. ?
Anything Asian is the go again. The cheong sam collar, Asian prints and the Kimono are huge. If you?ve got a friend heading to Japan, get them to bring you back a Japanese Kimono? you?ll be way, way ahead. The obi sash is a new alternative to the studded big leather belt. ?
Acid bright colours, even vivid pink are the hottest tip. (Scary, we know, but true.)?
Punk, biker chic and gothic chic were all in full swing as well. We?re also talking ankle wrapping. Wraparound sandals are a must and the flatter the better. ?
Terry Towelling is back! Athletic, terry-towelling loungewear (a la Stuart Membery circa 1986) – we know, you didn?t think the day would come but it has. Key piece circa 2002 is to be had from Marcs Baby Doll Hot pink is our favourite. Try the tops at $95.?
Shop of the week
It wins hands down. We can?t get enough of Shop Sui in Melbourne. It seems everything worth knowing about is opening on the new Melbourne hot spot, Gertrude St, Fitzroy. This quirky, eclectic boutique is full of everything slick and previously unobtainable from the East. Their paper lanterns caught our eye. So too did the most beautiful array of gift cards. They are a mixture of old-world glamour and Eastern chic ? our pick are the by ingrid cards with mystically coloured butterflies backed by pink and white stripes. Check out Shop Sui, 227 Gertrude St, Fitzroy, telephone (03) 9415 9588.?
