Who you gonna call?

Admit it, you just read that in Ray Parker Jr’s voice and have the song stuck in your head now (if not, you’re clearly too young).

Ghostbusters was a huge part of 1980s and 1990s pop culture so it’s pretty exciting that the trailer of the classic’s reboot just hit the net.

What makes this even better is the fact that the 2016 Ghostbusters are an all-female quartet starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Together they form the Ghostbusters unit to fight paranormal creatures taking over New York City.

The trailer promises a CGI packed movie with lots of funny-scary moments, something that was important to Ghostbuster’s writer Katie Dippold saying she wants it to be spooky, but “everybody should be able to […] go to bed perfectly fine,” aka you can take your kids.

Fans of the original movie will be happy to see everybody’s fave ghost Slimer making an appearance as well as the Ecto-1 Cadillac taking the gang through the Big Apple.

The gender swap wasn’t welcomed by everyone and sparked some very misogynistic reactions on social media after it was announced last year. Kristen Wiig was not impressed saying, “Some people said some really not nice things about the fact that there were women. It didn’t make me mad, it just really bummed me out. We’re really honoring those movies.”

We absolutely love the fact that there’s going to be a comedy with a strong all-female cast as women in leading roles are still underrepresented in Hollywood. Ghostbusters will be in cinemas on July 15.
