The Playboy Sex Survey

In 1983 Playboy conducted one of the biggest sex surveys ever, and decided to do it again as times have definitely changed! So how have our views changed, especially with the internet and gender balance? Take a look at some of the surprising results…

Personal grooming

These days, Brazilians and even ‘vajazzling’ are part of our vocabulary, whereas in 1983 Playboy didn’t even ask about grooming pubic hair. How times have changed! Today, 32% of women shave their pubic hair and if your razor is looking a bit stubbly it’s because 30% of men are shaving too.

Cheating

38% of women say the could not forgive their spouse for cheating on them, almost equal to the 39% of men who felt the same. And how many people in monogamous relationships are cheating? It’s not just men that cheat, with 14% of women and a close 18% of men admitting to infidelity.

Online dating

Online dating has definitely become more acceptable, with 25% of men and 16% of women using online dating sites.

Digital age

The advent of the internet has certainly changed our opinions on sex. 8% of women have visited a porn site in the last five years, and not surprisingly 45% of men did the same.

Girls just wanna have fun…

47% of women say they’ve used a sex toy…and The Rabbit as featured in Sex and the City is still one of the best-selling toys!

Say what?

The Playboy survey turned up some ‘interesting’ results, including 16% of those surveyed say they pick up the phone during sex, and 2% of men admitting they would like less sex (5% of women wanted the same).
