Top 10 Spring Beauty Must Haves
1. Dove Visible Beauty Body Lotion, $7.65
After months of cold weather and warming up in front of the heater, is your skin scaley and parched? Then run, don’t walk to the shops and try Dove’s newest body lotion that improves your skin’s texture in only 3 days. I didn’t think it could happen so quickly but I tried it over the weekend and by Monday my skin was glowing and nourished. Smells divine too. I also keep the hand cream on my desk and love touching up during the day.
2. b collection by Bloom Bronzing Power, $34.95
Bloom have just launched a diffusion line exclusive to Target, and the range (and prices are phenomenal!). This mineral bronzing powder can be swept over the face instead of blush, or try a light dusting over shoulders and the breastbone. I love it alone over moisturiser for a dewy, golden fresh look.
3. Arbonne Eye Shadows, $26
When celebrity makeup artist Chris King raves about a beauty line, you sit up and listen. Chris adores Arbonne, a Swiss-based makeup and skincare range that’s just landed in Australia. Their richly pigmented, finely milled eyeshadows stay on all day even humidity. I love Suede as an all-over base when I need to fake 9 hours sleep, and Blackout as a true, inky black for a sexy smokey eye.
4. Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rhubarb $13.95
Consider this your new can’t-live-without product. Like most women I’m always on the search for a better lip balm, and these ointments are super hydrating but don’t feel greasy so I think I’ve found mine! Rhubarb is the prettiest pink that you’ll wear all the time (and look out for Sunshine which looks a bright tangerine in the tube but goes on with just a whisper of coral).
5. Benefit Hello Flawless, $60
I was intrigued with this product that offered to cover up my imperfections with one single powder. I’ve always loved Benefit for the adorable retro packaging and cute names and this kit is no different. Use the powder with the sponge for a heavier application or sweep with the brush when you just need a light touch up. Brilliant!
6. Ere Perez Beetroot Cheek and Lip Tint, $29.95
Ere Perez is an Australian beauty brand that’s getting rave reviews for its veggie-packed, earth-friendly products, and we’re some of its biggest fans. Especially for the Lip and Cheek Tint – pop this roller pen in your purse to touch up lips and leave cheeks glowing with a quick swipe.
7. Australis Primer, $13.95
Remember Australis? The brand you loved as a teenager has had a makeover and we’re loving the new look. Not just for the glam packaging but the grown-up formulations. Amongst the many great finds is this primer which keeps skin matte even in humidity and sets your foundation to a poreless, airbrushed finish. I’ve tried premium label primers that cost 5 times as much but aren’t as good.
8. Jane Iredale Bitty Brow Kit, $46
If you’ve ever had your brows done, you know how they instantly transform your face. This travel-sized compact gives you everything you need to do your brows: a water-resistant powder and transparent wax to set and add lustre, plus the proper brushes to get your brows looking sensational.
9. Zoya Reverie Nail Polishes, $17
Pastels in spring? Such a cliché. Metallic nail colours are the hot new trend in the US and the look is amazing, as if you’re fingertips are dripping in liquid jewels. My favourite is Reece, a metalic gilded rose.
10. StreetStar Lip Gloss, $17.97
I don’t wear a lot of lip products except for lip balm, so when I find this new lip gloss that feels heavenly on the lips (plenty of vitamin E) and has an iridescent pearly finish, I got excited. The perfect pinky-nude shade is universally flattering and I think will look fabulous with a suntan.
