It looks as though Victoria Beckham is set for a big year! Her latest fashion collection has previewed to rave reviews. See what you think.
You have to give Victoria Beckham one thing – she is persistent. No matter how many times she gets pulled down, she gets right back up again and tries harder.
As she herself has said: “I’ve always been driven. I was mentally and physically bullied when I was at school and that gave me a very thick skin.…The only reason for me bringing that up is I have always been a fighter. I have always had to work very, very hard with everything I do. That is just my work ethic. That’s just me. That’s my DNA.”
It looks as though this tenacity has paid off in her fashion career at least with her new 2010 autumn collection previewing on Valentine’s Day at New York Fashion Week to very favourable reviews.
The series of 26 dresses was based on the style of 1940s-era comic-strip
detective characters and Hollywood femmes fatale.
“It was my personal style goal to be more relaxed, and you can
see that in the collection,” she says.
This is Victoria’s fourth collection and despite the hefty price tags, her brand has weathered the recession well. Sources believe it will command $8.4 million in sales this year!
Beckham wore a grey wool tunic to the preview that she said, “you can just throw on”. She completed her outfit with champagne-coloured patent-leather platform pumps with a skinny, skyscraper black heel that was created for her and the models by Brian Atwood.
