Melbourne’s Langham hotel has made the list, coming in at number 99, and the only Australian hotel to make the prestigious list. It’s the second year in a row that the luxurious hotel has made the cut.

Travel + Leisure’s 15th annual reader survey voted the Oberoi Vanyavilas, a luxury jungle resort situated on the edge of the Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, as the world’s leading hotel.
“The spirit of exploration prevailed,” says Travel + Leisure’s editor in chief, Nancy Novogrod, with hotels in such varied cities as Nairobi, Nevis and Chiang Mai getting the nod. It’s clear that travelers are looking for “encounters with the natural world.”
The top five cities overall are Bangkok, Thailand; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Florence, Italy; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; and Rome, Italy.
Singapore Airlines yet again came in as the world’s best international airline, having held the top spot since the poll began in 1996.
