3. Urbanspoon

The ultimate restaurant guide and finder. Choose cuisine, price range and area, then shake until you find the restaurant you want. A great way of finding new places too.

4. Mixology

Fantastic cocktail recipe database. Have a half-empty bottle of Grand Marnier and not sure what to do with it? Cocktail party coming up? I always use this for inspiration when I pop into the bottle shop.

5. Epicurious

The ultimate online resource for recipes (if you can stand the lack of metric conversions, but there’s always an app for that!), including restaurant and celebrity chef recipes.

6. Jamie Oliver’s 20 Minute Meals

We adore Jamie Oliver, and this bright and colourful app makes it feel like he’s in the kitchen with you, helping you whip up a quick and pucka meal.

7. How To Cook Everything

Mark Bittman, aka The Minimalist of the NY Times, is my food god. I adore his laconic, fuss-free approach to recipes and cooking. This best-selling app features 2,000 of his recipes from his much loved cookbook of the same name. $5.99 (and worth it).

8. Couch to 5k

Couch to 5k is the revolutionary fitness program that gets you from the couch to running 5kms easily in 9 weeks. This app motivates and tracks your progress. Friends rave about this program. $3.99

9. Old Booth

There’s the free Lite version, but you definitely need to upgrade to Premium for heaps of extra styles. Just upload your photo and warp yourself back in time – it is absolutely hilarious! Lite, free, Premium, $2.49.

10. Gucci

The Gucci app is as stylish as they come, with product launches, playlists by uber-producer Mark Ronson, and an oh-so-chic little black book for 33 international cities on where to eat, shop and dance the night away (preferably in your Gucci heels).
