The 12 Sexiest Athletes Competing At The Rio Olympics

August 2, 2016

We award these athletes GOLD in the hot AF stakes.

This Friday will mark the start of the 2016 Rio Olympics. If you’re anything like us at SheSaid HQ, you’ve pretty much just been following the crazy controversies (the explosion at the opening ceremony stadium and Olympians being robbed, for example) and haven’t thought too much about the sports actually taking place.

Well, that ends – now. Because you know who’s playing those sports? Hot people. No, that’s an understatement. Some of the most attractive people you will ever lay your eyes upon will be flexing their muscles in an attempt to win gold and make their country proud.

And because we know you appreciate eye candy as much as we do, we’ve compiled this list of the 12 sexiest athletes competing at the Rio Olympics.

You’re welcome!

1. Jake Dalton, gymnastics, USA

Age: 24

In the team final at the 2012 London Olympics, Jake was the only American male gymnast to post a score over 16 points. Catch him in action on August 8.

2. Ellen Hoog, field hockey, Netherlands

Age: 30

This two-time Olympic gold-medallist is vital to her team’s success, having scored two goals each in her first two Olympics appearances. You’ll first see her in action on August 7, when Netherlands takes on Spain.

3. Andre de Grasse, track and field, Canada

Age: 21

Andre grew up playing basketball, but when he took the 100m and 200m titles on the same day while representing the University of Southern California, he knew sprinting was his true calling. See him in action on August 13 in the men’s preliminaries, then later in the day in the men’s 100m.

4. Michelle Jenneke, track and field, Australia

Age: 23

Michelle is a brilliant sprint hurdler, but she actually shot to fame when footage of her pre-race warm-up dancing at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Barcelona went viral. Watch her break it down on August 16 in round one of the women’s 100m hurdles.

5. Marcelo Chierighini, swimming, Brazil

This local heartthrob is obviously super-excited to be competing in front of his home crowd – and we’re excited to see him flex those bulging muscles. Catch him in the water on August 9.

At the 2012 London Olympics, Chad captured the attention of the world when he beat defending champ Michael Phelps to the gold medal. Catch Chad on August 7 in the men’s freestyle heats, then later that day in the 200m freestyle semi-finals.

7. Natasha Hastings, track and field, USA

Age: 30

Where do her incredibly sultry good looks come from? Well, her mother and father – who were both competitive sprinters, BTW – are Trinidadian and Jamaican respectively. Wow! Catch her on August 13 in round one of the women’s 400m.

8. Luca Dotto, swimming, Italy

Age: 26

Earlier this year, Luca broke the 100m Italian freestyle record, breaking the 48-second barrier and coming in at 47.96 seconds! Catch him on August 7 in the men’s freestyle heats, then later that day in the 200m freestyle semi-finals.

9. Damian de Allende, rugby union, South Africa

Age: 24

It’s tough finding a union boy who hasn’t had his good looks beaten out of him in the name of sport – but Damian is the perfect demonstration of rugged good looks. Watch him and the team go hard out in the Rugby Sevens on August 9, when South Africa takes on Spain.

10. Mikaela Mayer, boxing, USA

11. Rhys Howden, water polo, Australia

Age: 29

Aussie-born Rhys comes from good water-polo stock: his father captained the Great Britain team from 1977 to 1981. See him and the team in action on August 6, when Australia takes on Brazil.

12. Alex Morgan, soccer, USA
