14 Of Donald Trump’s Most Epic Facepalm Moments

If we didn’t limit ourselves to 14, we would’ve been here forever.
In among their lengthy addresses about change and renewal, politicians often say stupid and controversial things to stir the pot. Luckily for us, we no longer have to wade through hours of speeches and interviews to find outrageous statements and ridiculous gaffes, thanks to none other than US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Possibly the most controversial figure in the free world, the brash billionaire isn’t one to shy away from the media. Even despite the backlash Trump has faced after promising to build a wall between Mexico and the United States, mocking a disabled newspaper reporter and going on rants with little evidence, he’s still coming up with incredibly offensive and dim-witted comments.
Here’s a look at some of Trump’s most flamboyant remarks and actions, all of which have caused us to collectively facepalm and pray he never becomes president.
1. When he said this about global warming
The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

Trump really proved he has no idea about climate change when he claimed it was a scare tactic created by the Chinese.
2. When he tried to pat an eagle
Behind-the-scenes footage of Trump’s TIME magazine cover shoot showed the presidential candidate getting up close with America’s national animal. Needless to say, the bald eagle did not appreciate Trump’s company.
3. When he gave celebrities relationship advice
Everyone knows I am right that Robert Pattinson should dump Kristen Stewart. In a couple of years, he will thank me. Be smart, Robert.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 22, 2012
We don’t think you’d last very long as a relationship counsellor, Donald. #teamedward
4. When he avoided the question
When interviewed by The Washington Post‘s editorial board, Trump was asked if he’d use a tactical nuclear weapon against ISIS. His response? “I’ll tell you one thing, this is a very good-looking group of people here. Could I just go around so I know who the hell I’m talking to?”
Right. Great answer.
5. When he confused 9/11 with 7-Eleven
Trump once again proved his IQ is much lower than he thinks when he didn’t know the difference between the world’s most horrific terrorist attack and the chain convenience store. #epicfail
6. When he unveiled his poor sportsmanship
It seems there’s no way Trump will be supporting the winner of this election, after he recently told the public he’d disappear before congratulating his opponents.
“They fight like hell for six months, and they’re saying horrible things, the worst things you can imagine. And then one of them loses, one of them wins. And the one who loses says, ‘I just want to congratulate my opponent. He is a brilliant man, he’ll be a great governor or president or whatever.’ I’m not sure you’re ever going to see me there. I don’t think I’m going to lose, but if I do, I don’t think you’re ever going to see me again, folks. I think I’ll go to Turnberry and play golf or something.”
One can only hope…
7. When he insulted politicians and the American people
“Free trade is terrible. Free trade can be wonderful if you have smart people. But we have stupid people.”
Good one, Trump.
8. When he spoke about men going bald
The public was dumbfounded when Trump advised men to prevent themselves from going bald, saying “The worst thing a man can do is go bald. Never let yourself go bald.”
Apparently he doesn’t realise that actually the worst thing a man can do is wear a bad toupee to try to hide the fact he is bald.
9. When he spoke about his ingenious policies
In Cleveland, Ohio, Trump urged listeners to thank him for speaking out about illegal immigration as, apparently, nobody was concerned about the issue before.
Would somebody please tell him illegal immigration was a problem before he became a candidate and that it will continue long after he’s gone?
10. When he showed off his horrendous business knowledge
During a speech at FreedomFest, Trump asked why Indian call centers were stealing American jobs: “How can it be that far away and they save money?”
Wow. No words.
11. When he exploited Freedom Kids
The fact Trump approved this odd tribute performance by Freedom Kids at a Florida rally just goes to show how vain and self-righteous he is.
Secretly, though, we can’t wait for someone to make a remix.
12. When he talked smack about Obama
If Obama resigns from office NOW, thereby doing a great service to the country—I will give him free lifetime golf at any one of my courses!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 10, 2014
Guess what, Trump? If you resign from the presidential race, we’ll give you a lifetime of free hugs!
13. When he confirmed his stance on abortion
During an MSNBC interview, Trump confirmed he approved of disciplining women who carried out the abortion procedure if it were outlawed, saying “there has to be some form of punishment”.
14. When he didn’t care about American business
I am happy to hear how badly the @nytimes is doing. It is a seriously failing paper with readership which is way down. Becoming irrelevant!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 25, 2016
With all his business dealings, you’d think Trump would understand that merely watching on as iconic companies fail isn’t going to “make America great again”.
