5 Foods To Spice Up Your Sex Life

Forget pills and potions – new research has found that certain foods can improve your energy and stamina in the bedroom. Here’s 5 foods that are guaranteed aphrodisiacs.

1. Spices

Spices like chilli, ginger, cinnamon and fenugreek improve blood flow around the body, so get adventurous and add more spices to your cooking or consider a spicy Indian meal for your next date night!

2. Oily fish

Here’s why you should be eating more oily fish, like mackerel and salmon (apart from it being good for your heart and cholesterol): it’s high in omega 3 which ensures better blood circulation. It’s also high in iodine, needed to regulate body heat and stimulate the thyroid gland (a low thyroid equals low testosterone and low sex drive). For men, it’s also been proven to improve the causes of erectile dysfunction.

3. Dark chocolate

Chocolate has always been an aphrodisiac, but who knew why? The manganaese in dark chocolate is essential for healthy sex hormones – you can get the same intake from wholemeal bread but we’ll take a few squares of good chocolate any time!

4. Nuts

Nuts aren’t just a superfood for your health, they’re a superfood for your sex life too. Nuts provide iron, which is essential for improving energy levels and stamina in the bedroom, while the essential fats in nuts help produce sex hormones – keeping your passion going for longer.

5. Leafy green vegetables

Leafy green vegetables, like spinach and kale, are high in iron which improve sexual energy and performance in both men and women. This is really important if you’re vegetarian and not eating red meat (which is excellent for lifting your mojo levels up). But always add an element of vitamin C when eating green veggies, such as a glass of fresh orange juice, to ensure optimal iron absorption.
