5 Resolutions You’ll Actually Want To Keep
You won’t see ‘go on a diet’ or ‘do more exercise’ on my new years resolutions. They’ve been on my resolutions lists for years – and probably yours too, and well, we all know how that goes. So instead of the unusual resolutions that disappoint I thought I’d suggest some that are actually fun and we’re likely to stick to. Let me know what you think.
1. Become a domestic goddess
Why should Nigella be the only one who fills out an apron so well? There’s no shortage of culinary projects you can embrace in 2011. Turn your oven on and bake a cake this weekend. Cook one recipe from each of your cookbooks. Head to a farmers market and get inspired by an usual ingredient. Recreate your favourite takeaway dish at home. Get cooking!
2. Invest in your friendships
We spend so much time agonising over our male relationships but we tend to take our female relationships for granted. It’s time to invest in our friendships, so instead of a text on the way home from work or commenting on their Facebook updates, pick up the phone and lock in a dinner date.
3. Read the written word
Book worms – I salute you! It’s been a while since I’ve read a whole book (too many excuses like falling into bed tired, watching TV, up all night on my laptop…) so 2011 is all about stacking my bedside table with books and getting through them. Check out The Book Depository for super cheap books with free delivery or even better get to your local library!
4. Have more sex
Now this is a resolution we should all jump at! It’s time to bring our sexy back ladies so start by focusing on what make you feel confident and sexy. Get to know what turns you on. Connect with your partner by making time for intimacy and affection. Try new bedroom antics – check out our sizzling sex positions for starters.
5. Do what you love
It’s easy to get carried away with life, and before you know it, it’s December and you’re wondering where the year went. But don’t let life pass you by. You’ve always dreamt of learning Spanish? Enrol in a community college now. Always wanted to take better photos of your kids? Pack your camera in your handbag and start snapping. Want to exercise your brain? Rally up your friends for a weekly pub trivia night.
