5 Ways to Cook with Tequila

When you think of tequila, you’re probably thinking…margarita! But did you know you can also cook with tequila, from marinades to the best guacamole you’ll ever have. Here are a few delicious ways you can mix up your culinary creations with Tequila Blu.

Use it as a marinade for steak or lamb
Add a bit of oomph to your barbeque. Simply mix lime juice, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic and herbs with a generous splash of Tequila Blu and let your meat marinate. Cook over a hot barbeque or grill.

Top your grilled corn with tequila lime butter
Just add a dash of Tequila Blu, lime juice, a pinch of cayenne pepper and salt to softened butter. Mix well and brush over freshly grilled corn cobs. Top with cheddar cheese if you’re feeling naughty!

Try guacamole with a twist
Add a healthy shot of Tequila Blu to your favourite chunky guacamole recipe. Enjoy with tortilla chips, or add as a side to a tasty dish of nachos.

Drunken fruit salad
This makes for a refreshing dessert. All you need to do is chop up your favourite seasonal fruits, whisk together a small amount of honey, Tequila Blu and lemonade and pour over the fruit. Let it soak, or enjoy immediately.

Top your favourite salad with tequila vinaigrette
Combine small amounts of finely grated lime and orange zest, lime juice, Tequila Blu, sherry vinegar, olive oil, Tabasco sauce and a pinch of salt. Whisk until blended and toss through your salad.
