9 Signs You Have Complete Career FOMO

Because your job sucks.
So everybody you know has an amazing job. They are doctors, editors for magazines, journalists, lawyers for super wealthy companies. They are pilots, models, actors.
While they spend each day enjoying the perks and living the high life, you are working your butt off and continually wondering what life is like on the other side.
You are constantly undermined. No one appreciates your efforts, and don’t even get us started on your pay. Compared to your friends, your life is a joke. If you can relate, there is no doubt you are suffering from career FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), and if you don’t believe me, read on.
1. Everyone around you is getting promoted
Yet another friend has invited you out for Friday night drinks. Not because they want to see you but because they got a promotion and want to gloat. Yay.
2. All your friends have better perks than you
Stop. Just stop talking. No one wants to hear about another friend’s all expenses paid trip to a conference in Hawaii, or about their free beauty products and gym membership. Particularly not you.
3. Everyone talks about how great their boss is
The fact your boss shouts at you every Friday is something nobody wants to hear, which is why you never say anything about how he orders you around yells at you for the hell of it. However, your gloating friend is making you want to jump ship and work under their ‘cool’ boss.
4. Getting out of bed is a daily struggle.
Knowing other people actually enjoy going to work makes everything so much harder. Hopping out of bed is just a daily reminder that others take pleasure in their job, while you just want to cry.
5. Everyone is earning more money than you
Congratulations everyone! You’re all earning more than I am! Couldn’t be happier for you! *Forced smile*
6. Everyone is going on holiday
While you sit at your desk slaving away, yet another friend is off on a two week vacation to a tropical island. Facebook and Instagram are clogged with sun-drenched photos. You just can’t wait for them to get back to hear all their stories. #sarcasm
7. Everyone has better hours
How do they manage to get of the office in time for 6 o’clock drinks? Seriously. While they are walking out the door at 5pm, you’re slugging away until 7.15pm.
8. When no one at work sees your potential
You’re still at the bottom and no one seems to get how hard you are really working. Worst of all, nobody wants to be friends with you.
9. You just wish you where anywhere but here
Everything is greener on the other side. Your role is undeniably making you miserable, and any word from your friends makes you extremely depressed and jealous at the same time. No one understands what you’re going through, and you’re spiraling into a dark place of self-loathing. Worst of all; you find yourself drinking alone.
