Slides
Birkenstocks, flat sandals, slides, and trainers were one of the biggest shoe trends of 2014. Anything flat and comfortable became an essential, and we’re finally glad that comfort is now fashionable! A pair of black and white trainers are the easiest way to make this trend part of your wardrobe.
Oversized coat
If weather permits, an oversized coat adds the finishing touch to any type of outfit. Throw it over a playsuit, denim jeans, a little black dress, or even a pair of cropped trousers. Stick to basic tones of black, white, and neutrals which are easy to chop and change with various outfits.
Plaid
Bring a little grunge to any outfit by throwing on a plaid shirt over the top. This effortless look is best if you’re living in a colder climate, but you can always tie it around the waist if the weather warms up.
Cropped trousers
A pair of cropped trousers are the ultimate way to take your outfit from day to night. Change sneakers or slides to a pair of (comfortable heels), and an elegant clutch or tote bag.
Sweatshirt
An oversized sloppy-joe or sweatshirt is a winter essential, and oh-so affordable at the same time! Grey marl is a popular choice for both men and women who want to keep their colour palette minimal at best.
So there you have it – an introductory guide to the normcore trend. While it isn’t for everyone, there are a few great pieces that we could all add into our wardrobe!
