Afternoon tea in Sydney anyone?

December 16, 2010

Enjoy Sydney’s most spectacular views over a special Christmas High Tea.

Christmas is a time to indulge and celebrate with loved ones. But if you think Santa hats and Christmas crackers are more “cringe” than “cute”, treat yourself and your colleagues, friends or family – to a festive High Tea experience that boasts style, sophistication and one of Sydney’s most spectacular harbour settings.

Until Christmas Eve, The Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks will offer its much-revered high tea service with a festive twist. Served on authentic British three-tiered silver stands, the Festive High Tea will feature a selection of savoury pastries and finger sandwiches, including classic smoked turkey with cranberry, and Guinness and clove glazed ham with pickles.

Scones studded with Christmas fruits will be complemented with gingerbread macaroons and cinnamon-spiced cupcakes, together with Christmas favourites including delicate fruit mince pies, a candy cane pannacotta, and an old-fashioned Australian treat, white Christmas.

In addition to the huge selection of famed Ronnefeldt teas which accompany every service, The Festive High Tea also includes a limited edition champagne cocktail – Poinsettia High Tea, featuring sparkling wine, triple sec and cranberry juice, ensuring that you’ll have no trouble getting into the festive spirit. ($50pp or $40pp without cocktail)

The Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks Christmas tea service is available from 11am – 3pm, Monday – Friday, and Christmas Lunch Special from 12pm – 3pm, Monday – Friday from December 1st to December 24th, 2010. Bookings are recommended.

The Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks is located at the end of Suakin Drive, Georges Heights, Mosman. For more information visit or for bookings call (02) 8962 5900.
