“Ageing Is Hard,” Admits Debbie Harry

She might be one of the most coolest women on earth, yet Debbie Harry admits that getting old for women is rough when they start to lose their looks.

The 65-year-old Blondie singer said in a radio interview this weekend: “As far as ageing goes, it’s rough. It’s hard. I rely on looks a lot. Women’s calling cards, unfortunately, are based on their looks.”

Do you agree? Are men judged on their looks as much as women?

And while she continues to look amazing, she has admitted to having plastic surgery in the past. She claimed her facelift was for “business reasons.”

After years of excess including drug addiction, Harry – who still tours regularly around the world – says she prefers her healthier lifestyle.

“I try my best and I really am healthy. I exercise like a fiend and do all that stuff that recovered drug addicts do.”

Despite regretting not having children, she looks back on her career with contentment. “I’m glad I’ve had all the radical experiences in my life. I have a better perspective.”

Do you agree with Debbie? Do you worry about ageing?
