A delicious dessert which is rich and creamy – especially if you’re looking for a cheat meal during the week. Derived from scratch, these doughnuts are made with fresh banana to achieve a fluffy consistency right after they’re out of the oven. Sprinkle some pecan nuts over the chocolate sauce for added taste and texture.
2 bananas (squashed)
1/2 cup soft brown sugar
1/2 cup Greek yoghurt or butter milk
1/4 cup butter (melted)
2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC), then in a bowl mash the banana, yoghurt and melted butter before adding the eggs. Beat together with an electric mixer, then sift in the flour and baking powder.
- Add the chocolate chips, then transfer the mixture into a piping bag and pipe into a pan (which has been sprayed with canola oil).
- Chop up a handful of your favourite pecans, and sprinkle over the top before serving.
