Banana Chocolate Chip Baked Donuts

A delicious dessert which is rich and creamy – especially if you’re looking for a cheat meal during the week. Derived from scratch, these doughnuts are made with fresh banana to achieve a fluffy consistency right after they’re out of the oven. Sprinkle some pecan nuts over the chocolate sauce for added taste and texture.


2 bananas (squashed)

1/2 cup soft brown sugar

1/2 cup Greek yoghurt or butter milk

1/4 cup butter (melted)

2 cups plain flour

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC), then in a bowl mash the banana, yoghurt and melted butter before adding the eggs. Beat together with an electric mixer, then sift in the flour and baking powder.
  2. Add the chocolate chips, then transfer the mixture into a piping bag and pipe into a pan (which has been sprayed with canola oil).
  3. Chop up a handful of your favourite pecans, and sprinkle over the top before serving.
