Get The Look: Lily Collins’ Textured Waves Hairstyle

Lily Collins’ textured waves with a centre part as seen at the Vogue Fashion Fund event at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. yesterday is such a cute hairstyle for short to medium-length hair. Here’s how celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak created the look in just a few easy steps.

1. Mara started by spraying Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray then rough drying the hair using the Harry Josh Pro Tools Hairdryer.

2. Next, she waved Lily’s hair using a one-inch barrel iron, creating a natural, textured wave.

3. To break up the style, she then used Serge Normant Dry Shampoo all over.

4. Then to add a bit more ‘piecey-ness,’ Mara rubbed Kevin Murphy Night Rider Matte Texture Paste into the palms of her hands and ran it through her hair.

5. Finally, she sprayed L’Oreal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray all over to seal the textured wave.

Get The Look: Sass & Bide’s Modern Ponytail Hairstyle

Celebrity hairstylist and hair director for Sass & Bide Renya Xydis created the perfect ponytail for the Sass & Bide Spring/Summer 2014 FREETOWN show at New York Fashion Week.

“With such strong, structured and detailed looks from Sass & Bide designers Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, a sleek, modern ponytail is the only option to complement the shapes,” Renya said.

“The centre part keeps it fresh while the length is secured with horizontal barrettes – it’s a hint of uptown girl polish that still maintains the Sass & Bide signature edge.”

Here’s how Renya created the hairstyle in 4 easy steps.

1. Renya treated each model’s hair to an application of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz at the roots, blow-drying it out to give the style texture and grip.

2. Next, hair was blow-dried smooth and parted in the centre for a sharp, precise result.

3. Hair was then smoothed with a brush and secured at the nape of the neck with horizontal barrettes. A mist of Wella System Professional Perfect Hold Hairspray was applied to lock the look into place.

4. To complete the look with a finishing shine, a final touch of Wella System Professional Luxe Oil was applied from the mid-lengths to the roost to complete the look with a clean, modern edge.

Get The Look: Demi Lovato’s Milkmaid Braids Hairstyle

Demi Lovato looks cute as a button in milkmaid braids. L.A.’s first braid bar Assembly Salon shares their tips on how to create this fun summer hairstyle that’s perfect for thick or long hair.

1. Prep hair with Kevin Murphy’s Easy Rider to de-frizz and give hair the best grip to braid. For an undone look, add a 20 cent piece size of Kevin Murphy Hair Resort.

2. Part hair starting right above your left eyebrow. Starting at the part, create a medium rectangular piece and separate into three pieces.

3. Cross the right out-most over the centre then add some hair to what used to me the right out-most strand (now centre).

4. From the right side, cross the left-most over the centre then add some hair to what used to be the left-most strand (now centre).

5. Continue your braid until you wrap around and reach the centre back of your head.

6. Secure braid with a clear elastic. Secure remaining hair in a messy chignon.

7. Mist hair with Kevin Murphy’s Session Spray for a lasting hold.
