Best Beauty Buys Under $20

Who doesn’t need a little pick-me-up during winter? But you don’t need to spend a fortune either. The SheSaid team share our favourite new budget beauty buys – all under $20.

Clairol Nice’n Easy Colour Blend Foam, RRP $17.99

I have always had a soft spot for Clairol Nice’n Easy: it was the first hair colour I used as a teenager and it’s still the colour I love to use. The shades (all 18!) are so natural and the colour lasts and lasts.

So I was excited to attend the launch of their new Colour Blend Foam formula, which doesn’t drip and spreads easily around each hair strand, so you have perfectly even colour.

Celebrity colourist and Nice’n Easy Ambassador Belinda Jeffrey showed us how easy it is to use:

1. Protect your skin by applying a barrier cream around your hairline

2. Mix the developer and tint together with just 3 shakes

3. Put on your gloves

4. Apply to your hair by simply squeezing the bottle then, just like you would
your shampoo, foam to cover all your hair

5. Wait for the developing time (25 minutes, or 35 minutes for grey hair)

6. Rinse until water runs clear and apply the ColourSeal Gloss Conditioner sachet

7. Rinse thoroughly, dry and style as usual to reveal your glossy new colour

Palmolive Heavenly Vanilla Body Butter Body Wash, RRP $6.49

Hold on, body butter in a body wash? This is just the thing for dry winter skin. This decadent new body wash is infused with the dreamiest vanilla scent (it makes me dream of cupcakes first thing in the morning!). It lathers up to really nourish the skin and leaves it satiny smooth all day. Wait till you smell it! Love the lid on the bottom so you get every last drop.

Wella Pro Series Shampoo and Conditioner, RRP $10.99 for 750ml

RRP : $10.99 750mL
The new Wella Pro Series has been developed by the pros so you’re getting all the benefits of salon-only products at a supermarket price. The shampoo intensively nourishes winter-damaged hair which feels stronger after just one wash. The conditioner has a lovely clean scent and protects the hair from breakage, leaving it soft and silky. Love the big bottles too.

Carmex Lip Balm, RRP $4.49

Sore, cracked lips are one of my least favourite things about winter, which is why I have three jars of Carmex in my handbag, desk and bathroom for instant relief. Better yet the new jar uses 20% less plastic so it’s eco-friendly too!

VO5 Styling Lacquer, RRP $4.49 for 200g

Winter flyaways inevitably lead to bad hair days but this VO5 hairspray controls unruly hair but still has a flexible hold and mirror shine. A clever UV filter also protects against environmental damage
