Book Club: The Carrie Diaries

Before Sex and the City, the fashionable and fabulous Carrie Bradshaw that we all know was a small-town girl who knew she wanted more. “The Carrie Diaries” reveals her journey from suburban Connecticut to her brand new life as the queen of New York City’s social scene.

We get a glimpse into Carrie’s friendships, first romances and how she became an insightful writer. Starting with her senior year of high school, the book gives you an addictive insight into how our Carrie became the iconic Manolo-wearing New York gal we love.

Shesaid Said: Definitely a must read for die-hard SATC fans!

I can’t live without… books.

If I wasn’t a writer… I’d be an Olympic dressage equestrian.

I feel most confortablein… my own skin.

The book I reread the most is… “Custom of the Country” by Edith Whaton. The main character, Undine Sprague, is wicked and wonderfully unrepentant.

My favourite vintage piece is… a green fringed Michael Kors dress I bough in the late eighties.

The three words that describe me best are… imagination, passion, determination.

My mantra is… never have a mantra. Or a favourite colour.

The best decision I’ve ever made… was to believe in myself.

The best part about wriing The Carrie Diaries was… writing the Carrie Diaries! I know I’m lucky to have found work I love to do.
