Chris Noth Says Sex And The City Is Dead

Can you believe the show started in 1998, and following two huge movies actor Chris Noth a.k.a Mr Big says it could all be over.

Noth is blaming the press for the fall out from this year’s Sex and the City 2 movie, saying the hype and reviews meant it could never be as successful as it should.

“It’s over. The franchise is dead. The press killed it,” Noth told New York Magazine.

“Your magazine f**king killed it. New York Magazine. It’s like all the critics got together and said, ‘this franchise must die.’ Because they all had the exact same review. It’s like they didn’t see the movie.”

The second movie did receive a lot of negative press for how Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte behaved in Abu Dhabi, wearing inappropriate clothes and acting like loud-mouthed American tourists, with some critics describing the sequel as “blatantly anti-Muslim.”

This seems to have translated into a poorer box office turnout: while the first movie grossed more than $157 million at the box office, the second earned around $98 million.

Michael Patrick King, the film’s director, has not yet committed to another sequel although Sarah Jessica Parker hinted earlier this year that the team are definitely considering it.

What do you think? Do you want more Sex and the City or is it time for the girls to hang up their Manolos?
