Publisher Mon tested out the day spa at Hopewood Health Retreat, all in the name of work of course!

Being at a health retreat really gets you thinking about your health and well being. It is a total holiday for your mind as well as your body! Whilst you relax and drink lots of water, you can’t help but think about how much bad food you eat and how much alcohol you would normally consume.

Now is the perfect time to visit Hopewood as the weather is gorgeous, you can lay by the pool or go for a peaceful bush walk plus it’s a good time of year to work on your own health and fitness goals.

At Hopewood I had a Deluxe Rejuvenation Treatment — a luxurious facial, for a whole uninterrupted 80 minutes! It included a deep cleansing, exfoliation, steam, 25-minute face, neck, shoulder and scalp massage, a lush vitamin and allantoin-rich mask with your choice of intense collagen eye treatment using Australian native plant collagen to eliminate fine lines, puffiness and dehydration, or eyelash tinting.

It’s worth noting the treatments at Hopewood are not only first class but they are really reasonably priced extras or can be built in to your package. The Deluxe Rejuvenation Treatment costs $126 for 80 minutes which is great value in my books as a really good facial in Sydney or Melbourne normally costs up to $200.

The Hopewood therapists use Pelactiv products which is an 100% Australian owned company. Each product has a beautiful individual fragrance that is derived from natural essential oils. Having no harsh perfumes in the products makes it beneficial for even the most sensitive skins. “Pelactiv’s professional range is a series of solutions based on natural lactic acid (a derivative of milk), and incorporates organic extracts such as Desert Fuchsia Rose, Wild Passionfruit and Lemon Tea Tree, which play an integral role in exfoliating, regenerating, strengthening, smoothing and restoring the skin’s radiance and vitality.

After using them your skin looks and feels hydrated, soft and firm. The products increase collagen, elastin, new cell reproduction and even out the texture of your skin. The products smelt divine, felt gorgeous and my skin was noticeably less wrinkled and a little plumper. They even managed to minimise the fine lines around my eyes and lips, too!
