Does Demi Moore have a book worth $2 million in her?
Hollywood actress Demi Moore is all set to go public in a memoir with details of her three marriages and showbusiness career spanning three decades. HarperCollins said it had bought world rights to a memoir by the actress that would cover her life and career. The book, as yet unnamed, is scheduled for release in 2012.
Business news website Crain’s New York.com quoted unidentified publishing industry executives with knowledge of the deal as saying that HarperCollins had agreed to pay more than $US2 million for the book. HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis declined to comment on the reported price tag.
Moore, 47, has starred movies including Ghost, Indecent Proposal, and A Few Good Men, as well as some widely-panned films such as Striptease and G.I. Jane. She has in the past acknowledged a troubled upbringing and difficult relationship with her alcoholic mother, Virginia King, who died from a brain tumour in 1998.
Moore was once one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood and, in 1991, controversially appeared naked and pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Moore was married for five years to singer-songwriter Freddy Moore from whom she took her surname. She married actor Bruce Willis in 1987, a marriage that lasted 13 years and resulted in three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. She married actor Ashton Kutcher, 32, in 2005.
