Easy Açaí-Bowl Breakfast Recipe
Everyone’s talking about Açaí berries and their amazing benefits which help to stimulate the immune system, boost energy levels and help to heal the entire body. Found from within the rain forests of the Amazon, it is now available in it’s natural form, powders and drinks which make it that much easier to access this antioxidant-rich fruit. Açaí bowls are also popular breakfast treats which provide protein, natural sugar and are overall a healthy way to start the day. Follow the recipe below to make your own yummy bowl at home.
2 cups (250g) frozen blueberries
1 banana (frozen)
1 cup strawberries
Handful of baby spinach leaves
1 tablespoon açaí powder
1 tablespoon goji berries
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 cup nut or seed milk (water or coconut water depending on the consistency you want)
2 handfuls fresh blueberries and strawberries for the topping
1 sliced banana
Sprinkle of nuts and seeds
- Combine the frozen blueberries, frozen banana, açaí power (or other superfood), protein, goji berries, chia and milk of your choice into a blender.
- Keep blending on medium speed until the consistency is smooth and creamy. This is where you can add more milk to get the type of consistency you desire.
- Simply pour into a bowl then garnish the mixture with the fresh blueberries, strawberries, nuts and seeds of your choice. Perfect for pairing up with granola or muesli for a summer breakfast meal.
