What’s on in September? Here’s a list of some of the fun things you can get your friends and family involved in.
Cure 4 Cancer High Tea
Be treated to an afternoon of Cutting Egde Australian Fashion, gourmet cuisine, express makeovers and special celebrity appearances all in the aid of Curing Cancer. DeNom @ Ruby Rabbit, Oxford Street Darlinghurst, will host a ladies High Tea on Saturday September 15th at 3pm. Tickets are $50 with all profits from the event going to Cure Cancer Australia.
2009 Royal Melbourne Show
The Royal Melbourne Show, held from 17 – 27 September, features animals and livestock; award winning food and wine; arts and crafts; amusement rides, showbags, free live entertainment, spectacular fireworks; and much more. Attracting 500,000 people on average each year, the event brings the country to the city. Floriade flower festival
Floriade is a festival of flowers, food and wine and runs from Saturday 12 September – Sunday 11 October 2009 in Commonwealth Park, Canberra. This year LINDEMANS® offers Floriade visitors the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show to create the inaugural LINDEMANS® Early Harvest Garden with celebrity gardener Meredith Kirton.
On 12 September 2009 Brisbane’s night of nights returns bigger and better than ever. QBE Riverfire promises to be a pyrotechnic and musical extravaganza signalling the opening of the largest festival the city has ever seen. Hit the River bank from 5pm for the Roulettes aerial show then watch as the skies light up!
Gidget Foundation’s Bi-Annual Lunch
Comedian Julia Morris will host the Gidget Foundation’s Bi-Annual Lunch for post-natal depression. Celebrities such as Jessica Rowe, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courtney Cox, Brooke Shields, Elle Macpherson and Britney Spears have bought PND into the spotlight of late so it promises to be an interesting lunch. Townsville’s Full Noise Festival
The one day music event to be headlined by Australian electro hit-makers Empire of the Sun and Frenzal Rhomb will be held on Saturday October 24, 2009. British India, Koolism, Bluejuice, Tame Impala, Numbers Radio, Ajax, Act Yo Age, KillaQueenz and Low Budget will also line up at Townsville & District Rugby Union Grounds, Hugh Street, Currajong, Townsville. On Friday 18 September at 8:00pm at the National Theatre in St Kilda “Short & Girly” brings together Australia’s most hilarious stars in bras for a night where all proceeds going to the Victorian AIDS Council.
