Forget Contouring. Non-touring Is The Next Big Makeup Trend.
New month, new makeup trend.
Lazy girls, rejoice!
Finally there’s a new makeup trend that takes just seconds to do, doesn’t involve hundreds of exxy products and still leaves us looking fly as hell.
So what is this fabulous, low-maintenance movement? Say hello to non-touring.
Non-touring is the perfect combo of the beauty trends contouring and strobing, and involves minimal effort to nail the look. Better yet, us lazy girls only need three products – primer, tinted moisturizer and a highlighter – to complete the easiest and most practical trend of them all.
Celeb makeup artist, Renee Sanganoo, describes the new movement as effortless and names models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid to be among those who’ve mastered the perfect daytime ‘no makeup’ makeup look.
“It’s kind of like Spanx for the skin,” Sanganoo explains.
“You know you’re wearing it, but no one’s supposed to see it.”
So get back to basics, forget about highly involved beauty regimes like sandbagging and start non-touring.
How to non-tour
As non-touring only has three steps you can wave goodbye to setting your alarm for the crack of dawn and relish in more beauty sleep. First and foremost make sure your skin is clean, then begin by applying a primer to your money maker ensuring you have even coverage. Next up, smooth out your complexion with some tinted moisturizer.
“It’s about dewy and glowy skin – you don’t want the skin to look super matte or dry,” says Sanganoo, so it’s critical you don’t go OTT when applying the tinted moisturizer. To avoid appearing like your makeup’s caked to your face, opt for a lightweight, hydrating product. If necessary, you can use a little concealer to cover any unwanted spots.
Finally, complete the non-touring look by using a highlighter on the points of your face where light would normally hit. Sanganoo recommends, “above the cheekbones, under the brow bone, down the bridge of the nose and on the cupid’s bow.”
So you don’t end up looking plastic, make sure the highlighter you’re using is matched to your skin tone. If you’re blessed with fair skin, use one with pink undertones. Alternatively, if you’ve won the genetic lottery and have darker skin, pick a highlighter with a bronze undertone.
Since the trend only uses three lightweight components, you can farewell orange stains on your turtlenecks in Winter, and will find the look equally hard to sweat off in the Summer thanks to the inclusion of the primer, which keeps everything in place. All in all, non-touring is easy, quick and leaves us lazy girls with clear, vibrant skin.
