Get The Look: Rose Byrne’s Blunt Bob In 4 Steps

February 3, 2012

Rose Byrne had one of the most talked about looks at the SAG Awards, from her sparkling jumpsuit to the blunt fringed bob. Thinking of making the chop? Here’s how John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh created the look in 4 easy steps.

The inspiration

“70s-inspired with a modern twist,” said Josh. “Think Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface meets a modern-day Anna Wintour.”

1. Josh started by spraying Byrne’s wet hair at the roots with John Frieda Full Repair Protecting Root Lift Foam, a volumising mousse that adds body without weight. “I needed to get a lot of lift at the roots,” said Josh. “Without that, the look would just fall flat.”

2. Josh applied a tiny amount of John Frieda Full Repair Perfect Ends Deep Infusion Serum to the ends of the hair to make sure the look stayed super smooth all night.

3. Next, Josh used a natural bristle brush to blow dry the hair, section by section. His top tip for the perfect straight blow dry? Always angle the dryer downward for maximum shine and minimum flyways.

4. To finish, Josh used velcro curlers to curl the ends under. Try heated rollers, such as Cloud Nine The O Ultimate Set, on the ends and leave them in until they have curled to set the hair in place, about 5-10 minutes.
